About Centre Spot

Centre Spot and Social Inclusion -

Underlying all work carried out by Centre Spot is a commitment to engage with different people across all levels, using sports as a tool to improve community’s performance, and address issues of social exclusion on five key indicators;

Health

Using sports to combat Health issues, such as adolescent Depression, and Obesity. Developing lifelong positive healthy behaviours and giving young people a firm foundation on which to build in future years. Centre Spot also works with people suffering from Mental Health issues, as well as Disability groups to help improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

Crime

Using sports as a distraction to reduce youth crime and anti-social behaviour, and as a cognitive behavioural therapy, by engaging you people at risk of offending in positive activities.

Employment

Centre Spot CIC endeavours to secure volunteering opportunities, work experience and when possible, employment for participants in sports work, and other fields of the sports and leisure industry, by training Volunteers and members of the wider community on sports coaching courses and other related fields.

Education

Developing key employment skills for example, problem-solving, decision making, teamwork and communication, and developing the physical skills of our youngest children through sports, so they may continue playing these sports as they grow and develop, or they may move into other sporting areas.

Inclusion

Using sports to develop psychological traits such as self-esteem, enhance social responsibility, develop moral responsibility, and also to encourage community cohesion, and to tackle issues such as racism and bullying, and other forms of discrimination.

Mission Statement

“Centre Spot CIC believes in a policy of inclusion. We also believe that everyone is unique. The success of inclusion and the natural acceptance of each other are achieved by including people regardless of abilities, and allowing each others personality to shine through.

Centre Spot CIC is committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment, and using the power of sport to ensure we help young people on their way to becoming caring, confident, and unique individuals.”
