Centre Spot awarded money from the Big Lottery Fund

Centre Spot have been awarded £72,076 from the Big Lottery Fund Reaching Communities programme to run a two year programme called Healthy Futures.

The funding will enable Centre Spot to work with young people from some of the most deprived parts of Walsall, Sandwell and Wolverhampton, engaging them in a range of healthy activities and creative learning enabling them to build self esteem, raise confidence and create aspirations, and help them get on the right track for a successful future.

The Reaching Communities project is an expansion on the massively successful football-based pilot. Similarly this new project targets young people who find themselves socially or educationally excluded and offers positive activities in areas such as sport, dance, health, media and art.

“We are really pleased to have been successful our application. The funding will allow Centre Spot to grow in its programmatic reach, whiles making a real difference in the lives of the young people we work with”. . . Manny Abbeyquaye, Director. Centre Spot.

The project will launch at the end of November in all 3 areas.
